Does Sportswear Designs Matter to You?

Sportswear Fashion in Australia has become more prominent. Keeping up with current trends with the latest sportswear can be a joyous exercise for many people, but when it comes to choosing the right clothes there are many factors to consider.

Sportswear to work out in can affect your performance as well as your skin while choosing fitness clothing, pay close attention to the design and materials used.

Materials

Fabrics used in sportswear vary from the cheapest technical fabrics to supporting and luxurious sportswear fabrics, ideally bearing qualities such as being able to breathe and moisture wicking. Having quality materials keeps the athlete’s temperature at an ideal level and gives the right amount of support and comfort. Likewise, it is also important to consider the durability of the fabric whether it can withstand frequent washing without losing shape and colour.
To know more about sportswear materials, read out 5 Top Material Choices for Sports Uniform.

Fit and Shape

Choose garment designs that are practical and suitably tested for endurance. Well-designed pieces will sit perfectly on the user and remain secure, firm and satisfying throughout any exercise.

Versatility

If the clothes are multifunctional and versatile, they can be used for multiple purposes besides exercising. This perhaps is the reason why the sportswear industry is booming. Sublimated Sportswear has recently become increasingly popular as fashionable clothing, especially for those people who live and breathe sports as it doubles up as casual wear.

Colour

Colour plays a major role. Sportswear colour is linked to the intensity of your activity and emotions. Colour can be a safety aspect. For example, a bright red jacket has a different impact on your emotions compared to a black one.

If sporting activities form a major part of your lifestyle, then spend more on high-quality materials and designs for longer lasting garments.

At Spidasports, we provide all kinds of sportswear designs and can even customise them to suit your needs. Contact us on 1300 864 755 or email at info@spidasports.com.au for more information.

5 Top Material Choices for Sports Uniform

When you browse around the market, you can find multiple ranges of clothing items for all sorts of sports activities. But the key to finding the right choice of sports apparel should be whether it is able to withstand immense stress and strains. This means it should be made from high-quality materials.

So, which material is best for you?

Well, it depends upon your priority –sweat absorption, or heat protection, or wind resistance.

Here are the 5 top materials for your sports uniform needs:

Cotton Blends

sport shorts cotton blend design

Sports uniform made from cotton blends has the ability to wick away sweat readily and provide you maximum flexibility. It is also durable and stronger and a more cost-effective selection, which is why cotton blends are popular among garment manufacturers. Such fabrics are easy to maintain and do not shrink much like pure cotton do.

Miracle Microfiber

blue wave microfiber fabric texture

Miracle microfiber is one of the highly durable synthetic fabrics that is gaining popularity in sportswear. This synthetic material is usually constructed of nylon or polyesters or both. This long-lasting material can easily wick away moisture and retains its shape for a long time than other fabrics do.

Spandex

Portrait of confident sports woman standing by white wall

Spandex, also known as lycra or elastane, is a stretchable material that can stretch more than 500% its original size, without any damage. Spandex blend fabrics are a popular choice for sportswear because it provides flexibility, maximum comfort, and is durable. It is an ideal fabric choice for workout garments and other close-fitting active wear, like leggings and cycling gears like BMX  Shirts. It is highly handy, lightweight, and fast drying.

Calico

Calico fibre

Calico is a natural material made from half-processed and unbleached cotton fibres. This soft, breathable fabric is extremely absorbent and environment-friendly. Because calicos are sturdy and durable, it is the choice of many athletes who play in the harsh heat and prickly summer bay.

Mesh Polyester

Polyester is the most common fibre used in sportswear. It is a loosely woven or knitted fabric, with closely spaced holes. This type of fabric is popular because it withstands higher temperatures due to its higher melting point, and is resistant to most types of solvents. It also allows air to pass through the garment, providing maximum cooling comfort.

Basically, you need to choose such materials for your athletic wear which makes you comfortable and energetic. Avoid clothes that are too tight or too loose, because it simply distracts you from giving your 100%. Such materials also help in determining how well the designs can be sublimated on the sportswear.

To know more about sportswear, and materials that are suitable for sublimated sportswear, contact Spida Sports, one of the leading brands for sublimated sportswear and sporting apparel on 1300864755, or email us on info@spidasports.com.au.

A Complete Guide to Indoor Soccer Gear

The selection of ideal soccer equipment is vital for every soccer player. Here are the basic gear requirements for indoor soccer:

  • Soccer Cleat
  • Shin Guards
  • Uniform
  • Soccer Ball

Soccer Cleat

Soccer Cleat
Soccer Cleat

The selection of any shoes depends upon its design, size, material, situation and brand quality. Specific soccer shoes are required for indoor surfaces.
The proper selection of shoes is vital for each player. The soccer cleat is expensive and should be selected carefully. Selection of lightweight shoes is not recommended for indoor soccer whereas shoes with a high grip are considered preferable for indoor soccer.

Consider the following points when choosing the right fit:

  • Your heel should not lift while wearing the shoes
  • The space of 1/8” to ¼" must be maintained with a comfy forefoot.
  • The shoe should fit the volume and width of your feet.
  • Examine the shoe material so that the right fit of your shoes can be maintained.
  • Wear socks while trying on the shoes. This helps you to achieve the right fit.

Shin Guards

Shin Guards
Shin Guards

Shin guards are an integral part of a player’s uniforms. The shin guards act as an armor and provide safety for the player. The impact upon the shin bone is decreased when shin guards are worn.
Choose the correct size and shape of shin guards appropriate for a player’s position. Shin guards are available in four sizes i.e. extra-large, large, medium, small and extra small.

The price of shin guards varies according to the brand, type, and quality. There are basically two types of shin guards such as slip-ins or ankle shin guards. The slip-in shin guards are light shields that slide in underneath the socks and are a basic design without straps. This type of shin guard provides for high motion and mobility and is recommended for advanced players. On the contrary, ankle shin guards protect the ankles against kicks and sprains. This type of guard is suggested for young and intermediate players.

Uniform

Generally, the indoor soccer uniforms consist of a shirt, shorts, socks, and gloves for the goalkeeper. The player should feel comfortable while wearing the uniform. The shirt and shorts should be lightweight and comprise high-quality fabric. It's desirable that the uniform be shrink resistant, to maintain its original size and shape.  When selecting gloves, consideration for quality, fit and grip are important.

Soccer Ball

The choice of soccer ball varies according to the playing environment. The ball selections are usually done on the basis of its weight and the playing surface. Some players choose felt covered and lightweight balls for indoor surfaces.

Create a Strong Team Brand with Quality Racing Shirts

Create a Strong Team Brand with Quality Racing Shirts

When your team is participating in a race or a fun run, there is no better way to promote a team spirit and your brand with quality racing shirts. So making sure you and your team are wearing your brand with pride is one of the cheapest, most effective ways to create a real sense of professionalism.

Here are key tips for creating quality racing shirts for your team.

Choose the Right Shirts

There are many things to consider when ordering racing shirts and as your team will be doing lots of physical activity while wearing them, pay attention to the details of race shirts. Comfort and ease are vital when getting dressed for doing engaging in physical activity.

Material

Choose materials that are designed specifically for athletics. Moisture-wicking or Dri-fit technology is must needed qualities to take into account. Beware of standard cotton t-shirts because they will quickly become hot, sweaty and uncomfortable.

Fit

A perfect fit and a stylish racing shirt will help ensure a racer’s comfort during the event. It is more likely that they will choose to wear the company shirt once the race has finished.

Colour

Whatever you choose, colour will be the first thing people notice about your race shirts. Make your racing team stand out. Create a shirt that is bright in color and use your typical brand colors to make your team recognisable.

Layout

The next important point to consider while choosing the shirt’s design is the layout Don’t cram too many words, graphics or logos onto the shirt. Leave space for participants to pin a race bib on the front of the shirt. More people will be seeing the shirt’s back rather than the front during the race, so put thought into what you want your audience to see.

Price

While selecting any apparel, the budget is the main consideration. Get a sense of the type of shirt you want and the price range for those options before you start shopping. Better align your quality expectations with your budget.

Creating a quality racing shirt is a great way to promote brand awareness and brand loyalty. When others see your racing apparel with the logos of your brand prominently displayed will gain their attention.

For further information regarding quality racing shirts for your team, Call us on 1300 864 755 or email at info@spidasports.com.au. Our team of art screen-printing department is combined with professional, high-quality artwork to get you the attention you are seeking.

Ride like a Pro with Spida Sports BMX Jerseys

Ride like a Pro with Spida Sports BMX Jerseys

Ride and look like a pro cyclist require the proper riding apparel. At Spida Sports, we take pride in bringing out the best designs for you to select from.

Our BMX Jersey keeps you aerodynamic, comfortable and has ample pockets for storing items.

Perfect Fit

We have a BMX jersey that fits both women and men. Women’s and men’s cuts in jerseys and tops vary. Women’s jerseys are designed to emphasise the waist and flare at the hips for a natural and flattering fit whereas men’s have a box shape often with a slight taper to the waist.

Fabrics

Jerseys that are made from fabrics that wick moisture to keep you dry, comfortable and cooler on warm days are ideal. There are new specially treated fabrics that actually increase the cooling sensation.

Sleeves

Sleeves are another consideration. Fitted jerseys often have raglan sleeves for ease of movement. Raglan sleeves are triangular in shape which seams start from the neck and wraps around the shoulder and upper arm. Set-in sleeves are like those of a traditional T-shirt which start at the shoulder and cover the upper arm. More casual design is to have a cap sleeve, a small, short sleeve that starts from the shoulder.

Pockets

Many BMX rider jerseys will have pockets. Manufacturers add pockets for a better fit and to carry rider’s essentials. Additionally, some designs incorporate a hidden rear pocket for an MP3 player, phone or keys. Casual and mountain styles will often have one hidden zip back pocket.

Hem

Most jerseys have elastic at the waist to help keep it in place. Some also add a gripper to keep the jersey from sliding up over your hips as you change positions.

Zipper

Some jerseys have zippers that make it easier to get it on/off and allows for ventilation. Longer zippers allow more air to circulate. A full zip is convenient as you don’t need to remove your helmet to take off your jersey. Jerseys with invisible zippers are also available as it does not interfere with the jersey’s print design.

For more jersey designs, please call us on 1300 864 755 or email us at info@spidasports.com.au. We look forward to showing you our wide selection of BMX jerseys.

Want to support your favorite team with the sports uniforms that stand out from the rest?

Then, you can now design the uniform of your choice at Spida Sports. Add your own team logo to men’s or ladies sportswear and add that unifying touch to your group. Below mentioned are the 5 clever ways to custom design your sportswear.

Choose the Product

Choosing an order for custom sportswear can be a confusing and daunting task. Choosing the right supplier, achieving the right design and procuring a quality product at a reasonable price can be hard work fraught with opportunities for error. So, it’s better to get the product from the well-known brand for a functional design, high-quality material, and good design.

Design

Design your own cheerleading uniforms, cheer sweatshirts and spirit wear. First, choose the sport, and then you pick a product and design the template and colors. Select your own desired model, the colors options and finish by adding logos, names, numbers, and text to get a unique look.  You can choose between a multitude of design layouts and colors.

Evaluate your Design

After you choose your design, browse through every version and select your favorites. Will your design fit on a tank top? Is the messaging right? Communicate your feedback clearly to your designer to make sure your next set of options look even better. Their ideas will help you determine if you are designing the sportswear what you actually want it to. If it’s not, go back to your designer and figure out what you can change.

Our promise and Ordering Process

On your self-designed sportswear, we want you to be happy and satisfied. We are ready to help you in every step of the way. Any questions that you have can be discussed either by phone, email or through our designer. And our design team is ready to help and discuss any ideas and concepts that you may have.

World Cup Jerseys: 5 interesting facts about the Crest

Finally, a wait of 4 years is almost over.

The 2018 World Cup is fast approaching. Around the world, many people will stop working or study to watch their favorite team wearing their team’s jersey with pride while playing soccer.

However, there are some really interesting facts about World Cup Jerseys. Read below about these 5 interesting facts.

Brazil

Brazil to date is the most successful nation winning the world cup 5 times since its inception in 1930. The team will wear a darker shade of yellow during the tournament. The jersey features sleeves with a zig-zag pattern and the collar with a green and blue trim. The shade itself is reminiscent of the jerseys worn by the team for the 1970 world cup.

Argentina

The two-time winners will be keen to win after losing in 2014 to Germany in Brazil. Argentina’s team will wear the iconic blue and white striped shirt, dotted with subtle laurel leaves which is an important symbol from the country’s coat of arms. The new uniforms will have three sky blue stripes on the front and back with a classic white ribbed V-neck and white sleeves. The soccer badge features the Argentinean flag and two stars. The letters AFA stand for “Asociacion del Futbol Argentina” and also commemorates the AFA’s 125 year anniversary.

Germany

No nation has played more World Cup matches than Germany - 106 in total. They have scored more goals (124) and conceded (121) goals during the tournament. The classic black and white look is back, with dropped shoulder cut lines highlighting a gold world cup winner badge inside the collar. Their badge features four stars with a circular design highlighting the nation’s famous “Federal Eagle”. The three stripes across the bottom of the circle are black, red and yellow.  The badge will receive a monochromatic treatment for this year’s World Cup.

England

England really does know how to make a simple design look smart. Tradition governs England’s updated badge as the three lions and ten roses make another show. The 1966 cup winners have dominated in white giving the team an understated elegance. However, without any text above the crest and the removal of the commemorative stripe from the below, this new version of the badge is simple.

Portugal

The Euro 2016 win allows Portugal to use a dash of gold in their new jerseys. Portugal’s trademark is deep red, with brighter sleeves and green design in the collar. There is a white strip bearing tiny crosses that gives it a burst of color across the body.

So which team are you supporting? Support your favorite team with the apparel and equipment featuring your choice of logos, fonts, and colors. Spida Sports customise jerseys and shorts from top brands with your team’s logos, player names, and numbers. Have your team stand out from the crowd. Take advantage of our fast, professional and affordable customisation options to design uniforms that show off your team.

Winter Sportswear Tips - How to layer Sportswear for Winter

layer sportswear for winter

When it comes to sporting apparel, comfort plays a significant role in the performance of the athlete, and with the arrival of winter, layering is essential, especially for outdoor sports.

Layering, however, shouldn’t cause you to heat up too much. You’ll want to find clothing that keeps you from getting cold. Sure, this sounds obvious, however, notice my phrasing - I didn’t say “clothing that keeps you warm.” Clothing that keeps the body too warm, especially during physical activity, causes overheating, while clothing that keeps the cold out ensures your body temperature is just right.

Base layer

You’ll want to find a suitable base layer that serves two significant purposes. A base layer should avoid overheating, but it should also avoid overcooling. It should be tight to your skin, absorbent and able to dry quickly. The fact is, sweat is designed to cool the body down, and it happens during physical activity regardless of the weather. It’s a useful natural occurrence during the summer, but not so much during the winter when it’s already cold outside. An efficient base layer absorbs the sweat, rather than trapping it close to the body.

So what fabrics work best as a base layer? When we consider winter undergarments, our minds usually head straight to thermals. However, thermals are only effective when you choose a pair that keeps the cold out and wicks away the sweat. Polyester, a very breathable fabric, also acts as a suitable base layer. Additionally, polyester works well when mixed with elastic fibres to increase an athlete’s comfort and mobility. While most people believe cotton is appropriate all year round, this isn’t the case for sportswear. Cotton dries very slowly and will only keep the clothing damp during exercise.

Keep in mind that your base layer can either be long sleeved or short sleeved and it can also include pants. Essentially, it’s one of the most important layers when it comes to winter sportswear, so it’s up to you to choose what’s most comfortable.

Your sublimated sports top

One base layer is usually enough, although it does differ from athlete to athlete. Remember, once you get your body moving, you don’t want to overheat. Next is your team wear and this is the layer you’ll want to show off the most.

Following up from the layer base, your second layer should also be breathable enough to not trap the sweat in either. You’ll want to go for a “cool dry” fabric, and as stated above, polyester works great as an absorbent.

While browsing through our teamwear at SpidaSports you’ll notice that while the nature of each sport is different, the functionality of our apparel remains the same. That is, our shirts are made from breathable, cooldry fabrics that work to achieve just that - absorb the sweat and allow for comfortable and maximum performance. A wide range of our garments is polyester, some with micromesh.

Outer layers

An outer layer, such as a thin, waterproof jacket is necessary for rainy and windy days. Once again, this garment isn’t necessarily to keep you warm but to also help keep the chill-out, and it’s most comfortably worn loosely. Outer layers can also be printed with the sports team’s logo, to make up for the fact that it covers the teamwear.

Post-game gear

Possibly the most obvious choice when layering for winter sports is a jumper! However, due to their tendency to overheat, jumpers are a great option to wear after a game, once your body has cooled down.

At SpidaSports, our fleecy polyester hoodies can be sublimated to match the design of your team wear, making them a perfect option to show team pride, to and from the game, especially after a win!

At SpidaSports we offer high-quality sporting apparel for a range of different team sports. Our sublimated printing method ensures that no design is limited. For enquiries, call us at 1300 864 755, email us at info@spidasports.com.au, or contact us here.

3 Ideas to custom design your Sportswear

Are you entering a new team to your local sports league? Trying to find inspiration for a sportswear design that sets you apart from the other teams?

Custom designing your team’s uniform gives you ultimate creativity and the opportunity to communicate and portray what your club represents.

Here are three ways to help decide on the design of your jersey.

1. Find inspiration in your values

What sets you apart from other teams in the community or neighbourhood that you belong to. This should translate into the colours you wear and the mascot that represents you.

For inspiration, look towards the values and people in your community. What does your community stand for? What is your local area known for?

Upon AFL debut in 2011, the Gold Coast Suns boasted a red and gold jersey. While most footy teams have an animal as their mascot and logo, the Suns chose to represent something more specific to the club origins. That is, of course, the beautiful, warm weather associated with the Queensland city. The Gold Coast is known as one of Australia’s most popular tourist destinations due to its sun and coastal vibes. So, when presented with a mix of other Australian teams, whose cities and suburbs give other meanings, the Gold Coast Suns decided to represent one of their best qualities through the nature of their team.

Gold Coast Suns
Gold Coast Suns

When brainstorming what your community represents, it helps to look at your local heroes for inspiration. This is especially relevant for jerseys during special rounds.
When brainstorming what your community represents, it helps to look at your local heroes for inspiration. This is especially relevant for jerseys during special rounds.

In the 2018 AFL Anzac round, Collingwood’s black and white stripes featured names and archival photos of ex-players who fought in the First World War, honouring their local heroes.

Collingwood Jersey

It’s important to find uniqueness in your community and apply it to the uniform your team represents.

2. Stick to tradition

You’ll notice that many junior teams look up to professional leagues for inspiration. They align their values with the teams and are essentially recycling what’s familiar to the sport and what already works well. This includes team colours, mascots, and songs.

For example, the Elizabeth Eagles took inspiration from the West Coast Eagles, while the Lockleys Demons took inspiration from the Melbourne Football Club, in the Adelaide Footy League.

This allows your team to give a nod to the tradition of the sport.

3. Unified, but with flexible options

A team is unified by the colours they wear. However, when ordering custom uniform, it’s important to consider flexibility, due to the different people who will be wearing them. Ordering a range of sizes is essential.

Additionally, depending on the sport, you should consider providing the sportswear in both short sleeve and long sleeve options. This allows the players to choose what type of uniform they feel most comfortable in, allowing them to perform their best. Boosted team morale leads to greater results.

Design

Quantity

Lastly, you’ll need to advise the quantity. This is also your chance to incorporate your team’s design into fan merchandise, such as a hoodie.

Our minimum order is 5, however, prices decrease as quantity increases.

So why not choose your best designs and call us today at 1300 864 755 or visit our store.
